I just got the mixed & mastered version of my band's latest demo CD which we have been doing on and off for like 2 years, and it'd super cool to hear some feedback from the people who listen to Children of Bodom and other cool metal!

We play progressive metal so it's pretty heavy. It's got both growling and clean vocals.

I play keyboards and have done some of the songs and lyrics. So yeah, if you don't wanna download the songs, please give some feedback of the artwork

Check out temporary website too @ http://www.randommullet.com

Anyways, here are straight links to the songs..

DOWNLOAD LINKS:

http://randommullet.com/media/audio/infection/Random_Mullet-01-The%20Statement.mp3(5:11 MP3 160kbps 6.1mb) - The Statement is the most progressive but has many straight-forward parts and a catchy chorus.

http://randommullet.com/media/audio/infection/Random_Mullet-02-Penetrated%20Skin.mp3
(4:44 MP3 160kbps 5.6mb) - penetrated skin is the most straight-forward & catchiest song on the demo, not many odd-time parts, just pretty much straight-forward heavy metal. Perhaps some CoB-influences can be found also :saint:

http://randommullet.com/media/audio/infection/Random_Mullet-03-Waters_of_Shame.mp3
(8:34 MP3 160kbps 10.2mb) - waters of shame is super heavy & proggy, and the epic song of the demo, lots of solos, polyrhythms, instrumental parts etc.

http://randommullet.com/media/audio/infection/Random_Mullet-04-Infection.mp3
(5:27 MP3 160kbps 6.5mb)- infection is pretty straight forward as well, a bit 80's like chorus , some melodies comparable to newer Bodom stuff..

http://randommullet.com/media/audio/infection/Random_Mullet-05-Neverending%20Nightmare.mp3
(7:19 MP3 160kbps 8.6mb)- neverending nightmare is the mellow song, epic ending, no growling vox

remember to vote something! :D thanks in advance

Here's the artwork:

I like the clean vocals alot! The harsch vocals sound a little "nu". Guitar's aren't as prominent as i would like too, but it's deffinetly cool stuff!

Thanks for the comments ! Yeah, it seems that our name is quite attention-getting :D I'm glad you like the music too..

inhe: you're right, the guitar sound could be a bit more powerful.. we just didn't have much time to mix the album (few days..) because of the money questions.
We mostly concentrated on the overall sound..

More feedback is welcome =)

the vox are a bit to "nu" for my opinion, everything else is awesome ^^

I don't mind the vocals, but I've never been a big Prog fan, but giving some songs a listen now.
The guitars sounds too quiet imo :S.

Good stuff but not my cup of tea, but grats on the recordings :D

P.S. the album cover reminds me of Hexidecimal from Reboot :p!

I like the Album cover nice one.:loco:

thanks for the feedback everyone!

CliffBurton: did you listen to all of the songs? Penetrated Skin and Neverending Nightmare aren't as progressive as the others.

Album cover is done by our saxophonist so I think he got the idea from our lyrics.. who knows if he took some influences from ReBoot (it was never shown in finland, I guess..)

EDIT: all of the songs also available on our myspace: http://myspace.com/randommullet
