I don't dislike any of the albums. I would however love to hear the older albums in a renewed state with better sound quality. THAT would be SWEET.

I like the newer stuff as well but keep thinking the older albums have more of the raw recording vibe. The new material appears too clean to my ears.

Poor Fate of Norns... There are three songs I do really like on the album though;

An Ancient Sign...
Fate of Norns
Pursuit of Vikings

This album could have been bad news for AA coming after Versus the World. Since it is the album right in the middle of their catalog I consider it a bridge between the old and new Amon Amarth. It is amazing how it is sandwiched between, arguably, their two best albums Versus... and With Oden...

So, what's your #1 pre and post Fate of Norns songs? Really tough but I'll pick...

Wow, this is tough... Screw it. I'll go with the father and son team of Oden and Thor.

Pre would have to be Thousand Years of Oppression
and Post would be Twilight of the Thunder God

I can tell you my favourite , but I will never figure out the least favourite , I LOVE THEM ALL . Own all the albums , got Olavi´s face tattooed on my arm , the logo on my chest... and I also really love Fate of Norns , and can't understand why you guys dislike it so much.

In my opinion FoN is really underrated. To me "Once sealed in blood" is a killer song as well.

Ah Hel. In the end we all know we'd probably pick an AA song over just about anything. If you are like me you have tons of metal, and other music, that you have to listen to, so much that you may never get through all if it in your lifetime. But when it comes down to it there are just a handful of bands that I always go back to and AA has been at the top of that list for quite some time.

I always have my trusty old 8GB mp3 player with me wherever I go. Almost daily I rotate music on and off of it but AA always stays on. There's usually 700-800 songs on it. Ironically today when I hit the "shuffle all" button the very first song that played was "Where Death Seems to Dwell" off of FoN. I listened to it and, you know, it's not a bad song. Hel, I even like Metalwrath off of The Avenger! I can see Johan back in the day, "Guys, I've got writer's block. Can't think of any lyrics for this new song. Screw it. I'll just sing the titles of all the songs we've ever written! Skol!"
