Rate my tones: Gearbox, Slate.

What do you think of these tones? Same tones on two different songs. On "Crust" you can listen to the instruments better, I guess.

They are both very very simple mixes, with almost no plugins and post processing.

ps: sorry for the crude playing technique.

I think the guitarist need to be thicker (what patch are you using?) but the drums and bass sound good. Maybe the skins need to come down a bit.

The patches are here.
As I´ve said, very simple mix. The chains are as follow:

Drums: Steven Slate Drums 2.0 ("Black Kit" preset) -> GClip (Gain 0, Clip 50%, Softness 0%, Oversample on).
Guitars bus: Gearbox VST Stereo ("G-CO Triple 1" patch) -> Nuendo built-in EQ (HPF @ 100 hz , LPF @ 12 Khz).
Bass low: Gearbox VST Mono ("B-CO Low 1" patch) -> Nuendo built-in EQ (LPF @ 200 hz).
Bass growl: Gearbox VST Mono ("B-CO Growl 1" patch) -> Nuendo built-in EQ (HPF @ 200 hz).
Master bus: SSL Comp Stereo ("CLA ST finalizer" preset with threshold set to 4dB reduction) -> Waves L2 ("16bit harder limit" preset with threshold set to 3dB max reduction).

ps: The "Bass Low" and "Bass Growl" are obviously copies of the same bass take.
