4/10 All the "selling-out" stuff aside, this is pretty dull. Especially in comparison to what they've released before. A shame, really.



If there ever was an example of how to properly integrate commercial elements without watering down your sound, this man is most certainly it.

4/10 Eclipse was a disappointment, after growing up with a fair bit of Malmsteen and expecting something far more...l don't know...evil..darker..superior..less bog standard Yngwie. it's probably hard to see now but back then this just sounded like second rate Yngwie. Yngwie didn't stand out so much in the early 90's as he did half a decade before.
l actually really liked the Eclipse album but l soon got bored with it and it really has not stood the time test.
l much prefer his pre-solo days now ...

Anyhoo, @Sirjack's song gets an 8/10 and that includes that awesome solo intro.

State of Insurgency and Being and Nothingness are modern thrash masterpieces. BaN is more technically inclined and progressive. I think you'll enjoy both of 'em.
