Raw Framus Cobra samples anyone ?

ill ask permission of the band im doing an album mix for atm to post one of their rhythm tracks up
sounds pretty fucking good IMO

V30 in an iso cab, 57 on the dustcap i think. no idea what the settings were though

I don't know if it's well recorded, to my ears it is, but i've selected a random guitar track from our last LP session:

Guitar is Ltd Ec-1000
Cobra is boosted with a od808, into a VHT Fat bottom cab.
SM57 edge of the cone

Hmm, it's so fuzzy and a bit nasally, and I shouldn't like it...but I kinda do...

Still, I think it's much better suited as a blend amp!

Yeah, i get what you're aiming at. I recorded it with mids on 9, with too much presence which i regret and will try some other setting when we do some new stuff.

But other than that the "nasalyty" is a great advantage live, as it cuts very nice through the live mix.

Hmm, and I just saw it was through a VHT Fatbottom, which as I recall has some kind of Eminence Legends in it, another variable to the tone (not saying they're bad, just that I have no idea what kind of effect they have on tone, so maybe they're responsible for the aspects I don't like - then again, I've never liked the Cobra when I've played it or from clips I've heard...)

Judging from that clip, I can hear how it would blend well with other more mid-heavy amps, and I can also hear how that + a 5150 definitely makes up the "The End of Heartache" tone (yeah they used the Dragon mostly, but still...).
