Hmm, I did that a long time ago. For clean stuff I think it can work.
For the metal stuff you get to much sharpness. You have to remove the hiss.
It works for placing mics in fase tough!

Yeah, I when I did it I just wound up dead center on the cap anyways... I should try it clean, tho (I usually go direct for clean).
