So can anyone recommend some real folk music and where it can be found? I heard some Otyg and would like to work some of that style into my music, but i don't want to be a poser.

I only know of metal-related real folk music, but do check out Ulver's Kveldssanger and Empyrium's Where at Night the Wood Grouse Plays.
Both are folk albums by black metal bands, neither contains any metal elements at all.
