Really happy with this guitar tone. First attempt at Micing metal guitars.

First attempt at micing metal guitars. I usually just run DI into pod farm which always results in a good tone, but I am getting pretty interested in using mics. It's so much more creative and interactive, to me at least..
Gibson Studio > Peavey Vypyr on 6505 Model (It's the only amp I have) > SM57 > Computer
Check it out. I'm pretty proud of it, but rip it up. [The name is a joke between me and my friend haha]

Lot of Reverb on the Snare floating in the mix. Guitar sounds pretty good for the mic'd effort. I think everyone else is sleeping. At least I know I should be.

I noticed that too but I kinda liked it to be honest. But then I also like that 80s metal drum sound. If you gated it it would be kick-ass. Nice guitar sound too!

^ Thanks a lot man! It's really funny you say that, because 80's style drums were the best. Ridiculously HUGE Def Leppard type drums were great. Other than that the reverb on the snare is mainly for impact/energy. I'll gate it though and thanks so much for the feedback!
