Reamp Test / 6505 x2

brutal! :) I like that!
btw, what mesa 2x12, recto?

Glad you liked it man :)

Yeah it is the Recto. I have a Engl Pro to, but it has some kind of ugly mids which i can hear now when i can reamp and A/B listen more closely. Kind of hard to reamp to midi drums though, they always seems to miss that nice mids, real drums give you.

As i said the guitars are really dark, don't know if it is a good thing, and they seem to be a little bit flatsounding to my ears.

Yeah so it's boxy and dark but it's absolutely great because of it. This few riffs was actually enjoyable because the sound was so BRUTAL. Almost felt same vibes than listening slipknot for first times, aah that snotty tone that rips the flesh out. So nice. I dig this!

Haha cool man. I think the tone can work if the overall mix is awesome, have a project coming up in 2 weeks so i will have the time play around.

I agree with all posts above, the dark a bit boxy sound was kind of my impressions from the start, but it seems like no matter how i try to reamp it ends up pretty dark haha. I Just have to get rid of the boxy sound.

Maybe im on to something quite different here, i don't know :S. You don't want to sound as any other famous engineer you still want to get your own sound.

Thanks for listening btw :)

Don't spoil the vision i thought you had while reamping this :D Im only saying that if the album guitar sound is that, ME personally would definetly like the concept. I'd just push the bench on the reamp result on this one, maby even keep the setting and try this sound on the final just for fun if not else. It's just so healthy way different than anything in a moment. Speaking behalf of myself that does the exact same "yeah yeah" sound everytime. Just don't have the balls to put any personality on the game. :/

I didn't have a vision exactly, just trying to get the best possible tone out of the 5150 :D But is great that i bought the reamp kit, opens up tons of possibilities. Got some really important projects coming up so hopefully im gonna deliver some awesome mixes and guitar tones :D

Yarr needs more clarity, do want to hear more 2x12 though! :D

Yeah agree, need to work some more with this :) Awesome playing man as always :) Did you have Emg 81 on the guitar?

I used the Loomis sig with the 707 in it :)

I assume you A/B'd both speakers and your sure the one you dig the most is the one your using here?

My pleasure! :)

Ah ok. You don't have any DI's with Emg81 :D Would love to try to reamp something more.

I haven't made up my mind really which one i like the best. both are great in their own way. But i think i can identify the character of each cab more easily now. The Engl has a very specific mids, which you can hear on almost all Studio Fredman records, listen on the last Dream Evil album and maybe you hear what i mean :)

crillemannen: and what differences u think could be between 2x12 recto, roadster and stilleto? have you an experience..?
