hey guys, i recently formatted my pc and i saved my old reaper folder to copy over my plugins etc, but i can't seem to locate the chains etc i had? i'm sure its really obvious and i'm missing it but where are they!?

Your saved FX chains are gone, but no worries if you have saved projects in your Reaper folder,
all the channel settings of the projects should still be intact, just open a project and save the chains of that project again.

The FX chains are located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\REAPER\FXChains

You have to enable 'Show hidden folders' from Folder Settings in Tool Menu, to get your hands on the 'Application Data' folder.

Hope you didn't lose any important settings dude :)

ohh man, thats the worst news.. thanks for your help though. i should have atleast some saved project files around, all the paths etc however are all over the place.. i hope i can figure it out! thanks again!

Sorry to hear that, but the good news is that you only need to have the project files where the FX chains you wanted to keep were.

When opening a project, just click 'ignore all missing files' and the project will open without the wavs, and you can save the FX chains again :)
