Totenmond "Fleischwald"

Totenmond can only be described, in my mind, as the inheritors of the Carnivore throne. Their music is brutal, primal, and vicious. It blatantly mixes elements of thrash, death metal, doom, and even bits of old school heavy metal and hardcore unapologetically. "Fleischwald" is their third release, and the release that really got my attention. The review I read of this album many years ago simply stated "For fans of early Sodom and Carnivore..." and I was onboard. Don't ask me what the lyrics say, they're in German and while I (now) know Totenmond translates to moon of the dead and Fleischwald, easily enough, means flesh forest (thanks snow2fall), you can decipher the rest for yourself. Rude, pissed, obnoxious, hellacious. For serious headbangers only.

Don't ask me what the lyrics say, they're in German and while I know Totenmond translates to dead earth and Fleischwald, easily enough, means flesh wall, you can decipher the rest for yourself.

Maren, I know this is you language but isn't "fleich" also Just plain "meat", couldn't it be interpreted as "meat forest" which would be even grymer.

Yup, could be either flesh or meat. It's the same word in German. A common mistake Germans make when they go to an English-speaking country and order meat: They order 'flesh'. Cannibals!
