Recomend me a headphone amp by tomarrow AM.

I have been using BEHRINGER HA4700 POWERPLAY PRO-XL (what a name!) for over three years now. Haven't had any problems with it. I don't think Presonus is a good idea, because it doesn't have individual inputs for each pair.

+1 for the Behringer. Being that a headphone amp isn't in the signal path, I'm okay with it being Behringer in this situation. It works fine and does what I need it to do, for cheap.

^Same reason why this would most likely be the only Behringer Gear I might ever buy! :D

The new Presonus Headphone amp (the one for the 19" rack) looks great too but is not really on the cheap side of things... :-/

SO>>>>>

I went to GC this morning (I unfortuantly could not wait and order one).

And:

I say "I need a headphone amp what do you got?"

He pulls this off the wall :Smug:. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Rolls-HA43-Stereo-Headphone-Amp?sku=483850

I say "no I need something good".

He says "well all I have other than that (this after he fiddled with his computer) is this"

I ended up getting the presonus H4 ironic isn't it. All well, it worked great so I am inclinded to just keep it for now.

i bet the rolls is as good or better than the presonus cheapie. ive been using mine for like 5 years without a hitch.

It got horribe reviews from what I have read, that and I needed to power headphones for a loud ass drummer.

My budget was in the vicinity of $100 (or a little more as high as $150) and I didn't want to take a gamble on the rolls taking a dump, being noisey, or just not loud enough.

I wanted something else but thats all that they had so I went with it. Had I had more time I would have ordered something much nicer.

like i said, the rolls isnt any of those things, its a great little piece of gear. i wasnt dogging what you got or saying the presonus isnt good, i was merely letting you know that something you thought was junk is a reliable and decent sounding piece of gear for me that gets plenty loud(im a drummer). thats all.

I've been using an HA8000 for a couple years now. It's noisy, harsh, and manufactured by Behringer, but it isn't for my ears, so I allow it.

FWIW, I own the Presonus H4. I've had it for a couple years. No issues with it really. It's got plenty of volume too, and works decent for a $100 headphone amp, I think. You could have done worse. ;)

Shit i got this too and Ive broke a knob off glued it back on and its still working and even if a channel goes bad or something breaks like knob i got 7 more channels:rock:

Yea its very loud also i have drummers telling me to turn it down:He:

whenever I've tracked for my old band or others' I've used the rolls, I think probably that same unit and haven't had the 1st problem as far back as 2003? or whever it was we picked it up. works awesome everytime and loud enough the drummer couldn't hear his sticks actually hitting any drums unless we muted the rolls. I'm glad you got what you needed and actually enjoy it though, that can be a rare thing.
