What do you guys like for a good hihat sample? To my ears the Metal Foundry hats seem too thin and wispy. Any tips?

Thanks.

Honestly, get a good hi-hat and record the hat tracks (It's not hard even if you aren't a drummer). It will make your programmed drums sound much better and more realistic. If you have an SM7b around or really any decent mic it should sound good. It's a trick I learned from Ronan Chris Murphy (http://ronansrecordingshow.com/)

However, if that's not to your liking or just unavailable, then the Sturgis cymbals honestly do sound really good. He only sells the cymbals as a pack though, but they aren't too expensive.

Thanks, Vinny. Yeah, a real hihat is no doubt the best way to go... I'll see what's around some of the local used shops. Some good samples would be nice for convenience, though. Thanks for the suggestions.
