last stuff I got and liked was:
Manowar - Fighting the World
Kiss - Destroyer, Love Gun, Lick it Up
Judas Priest - Painkiller

thaks!

I'll appriciate non-metal titles too, 80's stuff like Foreigner, Alan Parson, Gary Moore.

thanks in advance! :headbang:

Blizzard, my man, here are a few of what i think are the finest albums ever recorded with electric guitars, screamin' vocals, and attitude out the ass! Metal/Glam/Hard Rock, call 'em what you want, but these are some MUST HAVES in my book!

VAN HALEN - WOMEN AND CHILDREN FIRST - I say it's their best ever. Excess everywhere!
WASP - s/t and THE LAST COMMAND
TED NUGENT - you gotta have some Ted! "Great Gonzos" is a good best of but I think his best album by far is CAT SCRATCH FEVER, then FREE FOR ALL.
LA GUNS - COCKED AND LOADED - an underrated 80's glam metal classic
AEROSMITH - ROCKS - if ya wanna hear them when they were 'dangerous'!
FASTER PUSSYCAT - WAKE ME WHEN ITS OVER - if only for "House of Pain"
RATT - OUT OF THE CELLAR - classic hair metal also see INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY
SKID ROW - s/t - excellent!
TESLA - THE GREAT RADIO CONTROVERSY
QUIET RIOT - METAL HEALTH - you can't love metal and not love CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE
SCORPIONS - anything....
JUDAS PRIEST - DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH - my favorite priest album followed by BRITISH STEEL
MOTLEY CRUE - gotta have Crue! - for metal try SHOUT AT THE DEVIL and glam I'd say THEATER OF PAIN or GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS
THE DARKNESS - PERMISSION TO LAND - new glam! Don't be afraid to give them a try!!!

I know you may have a lot of these but it sounds like you're looking for some good history...these are great albums to get you started!!!

Just my opinion!

Hmmm.... try some Slaughter if you don't have any. Mark Slaughter is an amazing vocalist. Another good one (though you would have to buy it on e-bay as it is out of production) is Misha Calvin Evolution I. It is like a cross between Whitesnake, Yngwie and Sabbath. Since you like Priest, like Zeppelin I also recommend Accept, though I prefer the Metal Heart release, but Restless and Wild, Balls to the Wall and Metal Heart are all outstanding releases.

I cannot agree! The First 2 are the worst go for the last 5 :) Starting with the Most Excellent and Perfect "Cautro" album
Dunno I started by the numbers, hadn't pass the first two and they impressed me lighlty, the kind of band that if never released anything won't be miss anyway. And most reviews I have seen put the last two as very bad. Although "Cuatro" ranks high everywhere I should try that one...

Will be missed by me! ... never rely on reviews particualarly since they are written by fools that cant for get that Jason Newsted was once part of the band ... I have said it before the later albums is where they actually developed their own sound and stopped trying to sound like Metallica .... Cautro is Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I also Love "High, Unnatural Selection,My God,and ummm Fuck that one that came after Cuatro" ... When the Storm comes down is good too :)

Cinderella - Night Songs (what AC/DC should have been putting out in the late 80s!)
Britny Fox - Britny Fox (see above!!)
Britny Fox - Boys In Heat (just as good as the debut)
Lizzy Borden - Visual Lies (mix of LA shock rock/hair metal and classic heavy metal)
Alice Cooper - Trash (his catchiest and biggest sounding album, Des Child co-writing!)

Yep early VVI with Mark Slaughter is good stuff. Surprisd Trixx hasn't mentioned them.

Bryant
Actually the first Vinnie Vincent Invasion album (1986) has a different singer, Robert Fleischman. That is the album to get. The sound is way more over the top & excessive, huge in fact (the guitar tone will blow your ears out!) but even despite the fact that its not as song-focused, the songwriting is still heaps better on this album I think. Start to finish every track is dynamite on this album. Mostly its HIGH-energy over the top ultra-sleaze super glam with fast guitars and ear piercing vocals coming from all angles but SO many great catchy hooks, and there are a couple of great slower melodic tracks as well which are unreal.

The 2nd (and unfortunately the last) Vinnie Vincent Invasion album is called All Systems Go from 1988 and has Mark Slaughter on vocals. He is a very similar singer to Robert with a very high pitched voice but he isn't quite as edgy and because the sound of the album is so toned down, sometimes the mega-high vocals don't have as much of a purpose there. It is still a great album though and slays most of the "big" albums coming out at the same time, but compared to the debut its a let down. There are about 4 songs that are total killers on it, such as Ashes To Ashes the opener, and the 2 ballads That Time Of Year and Love Kills which are unbelieeeeeeeevable songs! The more straight forward sleaze songs though could really do with the over the top treatment and huge screaming guitars of the first album though to kickstart them a bit. Vinnie doesn't like this album, because I think the record label and Slaughter/Strum had most of the control over the production of it and Vinnie wasn't able to record the songs how he wanted to, which is the way the first album was recorded.

Both highly recommended albums though! But the debut with Robert Fleischman singing is the must-have!

The first 2 Slaughter albums (featuring Mark Slaughter and Dana Strum from VVI) are both great as well. Though not as consistent as the Invasion stuff and way too many ballads.
