Recommendation: Buried Sleeper - Colosseum

I actually just came across this band last night. Good stoner/doom metal with some psychedelic tinges and even grunge. The vocalist is almost reminiscent of Layne Staley at times even. Check it out...

Same as Beehoover : not into stoner doom anymore. I'd have appreciated that more 2-3 years ago. Trying to don some unbiased glasses, I'm not all that impressed with their plodding along style. Some bands in a similar vein manage to infuse some mind-travelling qualities into their music quite easily (thinking of EW here of course, or even Ancestors), this comes across as a little dry and needy on that front. Don't dig the vocals either (too much of them too). I guess the right customers for this music will rise to attention though.

I really like this. The tune is building nice. I think a lot of bands like this tend to plod (nothing wrong with that) but this one shows good dynamics.

Totally sold at the 11 minute mark of the first song. Buying this one.

It's like doom metal AiC at times. Specifically the last track; Temple Of Nothing.

I'm not sure what happened when I checked them out last time, but I'm digging this quite a bit. They do a great job of building up with keeping your attention. Some people online are saying they don't dig the vocals, but I think they're ace.
