Recommendation: Discipline - Unfolded Like Staircase

A personal favorite of mine from the prog rock vaults. I know I have mentioned them many times in the past but believe that only The Swizzler has followed up on it and has reaped the benefits. Fans of VDGG will love this.

sounds like old Rush in some parts ... I mean to the point of ripoff.

They don't sound like Rush whatsoever. I'd understand if you said Van Derr Graaf Generator. No, this album was put out in '97.

.... I actually heard serious Rush worship in the Crutches track ... I guess more from the singer channeling Geddy ... the band of course is nowhere near their greatness

yeah, this band fucking rules. Just like most VdGG albums, it takes a few spins for it to soak in because it's so dense and complicated.

Also they have an album out in 2011? It has higher ratings than this on prog archives? What the fuck.

This is class, but as Aurel pointed out, need to be in the right mood for this brand of music. Top shelf though, (based on 1st track), going to continue listening. #kappa

Really good and chill stuff here. There's something fishy about the singer though. Sounds really effect-ridden to me, and his notes are off a lot.
