basically i'm looking to get myself a few recordings done soon with my band

i've got a macbook pro on the way and i have cubase and reason which i've been using on my pc (quite unsuccessfully out of unreliability). first thing, will reason and cubase run on the intel macs!? i can't seem to find an answer to that

also i can't afford to get myself a decent enough interface with enogh pre's to record a kit just yet, so i'm wondering what i ought to do about drums. i've had lots of experience programming midi drums, i just don't know what i ought to get that i can whack the midi in, and make them sound brutal as hell.

i've got a pod xt live for guitars but it sounds pretty useless via usb, how would you recommend getting it to sound better!?i have the metal pack and it sounds decent through my marshall dslcombo but i can't get it sounding good when trying to record

any recommendations?

thanks in advance.

Right, I'm pretty sure Cubase and Reason will run without a hitch.

Drumkit From Hell Superior is the way to go for MIDI drums, that and some extra samples and you can get some seriously brutal sounding drums.

And as far as the PodXTL, run it into your comp using the line out, it's well voiced on this forum that the USB connection sucks for recording.

I don't think you get what DFHS is, it's a sample library, you feed it a midi signal and it will play the samples when it receives a midi trigger from the file you programmed. You program MIDI files in Cubase, right?

ah sorry i meant will the pod xtl sound good enough through the soundcard.

i know how dfhs works! i program in sibelius and then alter velocities and things later with cubase, (i prefer working with scores)

No problem man, that's what forums are for. By the way, enjoy your stay here. A lot of guys here, really know their shit. And can offer some great help.
