Guitar Pro 5 midi exporting issues

I recently bought Guitar Pro 5 for Intel Mac, used guitar pro for a long time on macs as well. I generally write out all of our songs in GP4 and export them as midi to use for drums and bass for demoing stuff.

But now when I export in GP5 the midi files dont seem to work in Pro Tools or any another midi program. Any ideas? I cant see an option to change from type 1 midi or type 2.

It could be that GP5 uses a proprietary MIDI format.

I had a problem when exporting midi as well, don't know if it's the same problem you're having but it kept exporting nothing, the mid file created was empty. The solution was to asign all midi tracks to Port 1. Hope this helps...

Yeah, thats exactly it. The mid file is empty. I tried the Port 1 solution, but it was already like that, so im guessing it wouldnt help!

Damn, im annoyed.
