recording bass guitar help

any specific tips for recording bass guitar? I'm going DI into Mbox2 and pro tools.

what are your thoughts on doubling the bass tracks? I've just always done simple DI, basic mixing/compression, and only 1 track...anything I could do to better things?

Please, search, bass guitar tracking and mixing tips and techniques have been discussed here a gajillion times in less than a year. I think the biggest thread would be one called Metal bass guitar or something like that
