Recording In Tape

From what I experienced, you better have a CLASP system if you want record to tape. Tape workflow is just too slow in this age. Rewind time is just crazy for band:lol:

^^^ Yeah there is. There's definitely a workflow difference as well. But rewinding seriously only takes 12 seconds. You don't need no damn clasp system.

The studio I work at still uses tape all the time. We're one of the only ones in San Diego that still has a tape machine. Probably 30% of what we do is to tape. We've got an Otari MTR-90 24 track. I just patch the outputs of the tape machine straight into Pro Tools, hit the input button, and monitor through there. Record what we can to tape, then hit record in pro tools and dump it in. Then use PT to do any little editing and overdubs. This way, I get the best of both worlds, and I only need one roll of tape to do a whole record. Drums + Bass + natural tape compression = win.

Yes but only for drums.

And funnily enough at the studio I use for drums on an Otari MTR 90 MK ii
