Recover accidentally formatted partition

I recently deleted a 30 gig partition on my primary drive. Now in disk management it shows up as unallocated.Are my files that were on the other partition of the disk (450gig) lost and if not how can I get back my partition and files.

in the time you'll spend trying to recover something decently after formatting (i'm thinking of a slowly well done formatting) you'll re-build whatever you did, i use my massive pc fuckups to get like a fresh view of everything, may not help, but... well it does nothing apart from not helping. Maybe try the Powerquest tools, but i may be wrong or the company may have even changed the name since the last time i tried to recover a single file. You know recovering processes are slow and painful right?
Your stuff is gone I think dude... Though you could download some kind of recovery software, have you looked for anything like this?

Don´t worry (much), all your data still exists as long you don´t keep writting stuff on the disk. It is just "hidden" until something new gets its space, so stop using it right now, because if you keep messing with it your deleted data you be gone or corrupted forever.

Plug the drive on another computer, install this program and let it do its thing (it takes a while depending on the size of the HD). After it finishes the scan you'll be abble to copy the savaged data to your other HD on a explorer-like window. When I used it some folders got number names, so I had to enter one by one to check if it was something important, but this program just saved my life.

My HDD was split on two partitions C and D.C was for OS and on D i stored all other stuff including samples,projects and stuff related to music and music production.When I bought new HDD for OS I formatted C partition and then deleted the C partition and all HDD space went to unallocated disc space and now Windows don't see the drive.Yesterday I recovered the partition with partition recovering software and all data is there.Now I'll make image of the disc and after I format the HDD I'll extract the image and everything will be ok.Thanks!
