Rediscovery Pt. 2

First off, no matter how many times I listen to this track, and also it's segue track i guess, it never ceases to blow me away. Brilliant album ender incorporating elements from the entire album, sometimes clearly, and sometimes more subtly in basslines or keyboard parts that kinda take a back seat in the mix. Some of my fav parts are the riff at 8:56 and the majesticly beautiful section starting with "Turn the Page . .".

My main question, however, is whether or not they've played this track live? This would be the kind of song, where if I heard them come in for an encore, and the Rediscovery segue started, I would just lose it completely.

Has anyone had the ultimate pleasure of hearing this epic live?

yep it is the best song on V and one of the best overall

Yep. It's quite an amazing song - that's about all I can say. Hard to describe how much it just rocks my world.

I can't describe how amazing this track is. Every time I listen to Both Rediscovery I and II I get this special feeling that feels glorious...I can't describe it man. This song is too good to be true, that's all I can say.

My favorite part is the intro, and the ending starting with the part right before "Turn the Page," with the piano in the background. The intro just captures me as if I'm living my life in the song.

well damn, they should play this thing live! Why do u think they havn't? You guys think some of the choir vocal parts at the end would be hard to coordinate live? I really don't see much of a reason. Jax, any insight would be appreciated.

It's one of my favourites! Great song with a lot of different elements. I love in particular way the riff at 3:53 and that "dark" piece following...
It is the song that I use to present SymphonyX to whom has never heard about 'em.

Its a pretty good song and I'm currently listening to it. It's amazing

It's a fantastic epic to close the album...it has a nice sunny disposition and air of hope, yet it also has some good riffy crunch

In fact, only tracks 1-9 from V have been played live.

oh man, It'd be sweet if S-X can play the entire V album live someday. Especially from "A Fool's Paradise" to the epic "Rediscovery pt. 2" I love how heavy a Fool's paradise is, both the intro and ending, flowing into Rediscovery Pt. 1, then into the best song on the album, Rediscovery Pt. 2.

I'm not kidding when everytime I listen to this song, I feel so good and soothed by it's beautiful melodies and breathtaking rhythms.

Umm.. I wouldn't say its better than the Odyssey. Its surely better than all the other songs on the Odyssey...

Rediscovery (I-II) is also probably my favorite song off the V Album. It's just plain tough.

I go back and forth between Rediscovery I & II and TDWOT as my favorite, but I think Rediscovery has the slight edge overall. The part at just about 5:50 is incredible! When it kicks in after the more mellow part... Damn that's good! And the off beat drums Rullo uses, I swear I almost have it figured out to tap it out on my steering wheel (I'm a bassist, not a drummer) but I still don't get it completely right most of the time, and I've heard that song at least 500 times at least!

By far, one of the best SyX creations ever!

Rediscovery may very well be the best SX "epic". Yeah, even better than The Odyssey, TDWOT, etc. It's really a fantastic song.

I reach musical euphoria while listening to it. I love how musical themes introduced at the beginning of the album re-occur during this song. It's transcendental.

Rediscovery is the perfect last track for a concept album; a cathartic ending to a long story.

the guitar tone is probably the best tone out of all the S-X tone's I've heard.
