Since when does Shoutweb cover Opeth? They usually just cover nu-metal

That's exactly what I thought. You should have seen my face when I read that there. Apparently though, Opeth are pretty popular amongst the members.

I'm just making an assumption, but I think the "heavy" album will be released first. It just makes more sense that way. While I'll probably love both, I can just imagine the fans' reaction to waiting another 6 months for the real CD after not particularly enjoying the experimental one.

So, I guess the real one will be first, and the experimental one will come like 5 or 6 months later. Kind of like a little bonus.

That's right, I guess the logical choice would be going right away with the heavy album. At least for the record company...

...still I bet, even though this is only an assumption of mine, that the band as artists are more excited about the experimental one and would like to surprise the audience and hear their reactions. Opeth isn't a band known for playing it safe...

Then again, a tour definitely suggests the heavy album, for obvious reasons.
