Yeah I charge 20 euros per hour for my home classes and my going rate at the businesses are usually between 22 and 25 euros per hour, plus gas, plus travel time. Dude, mother tongue English teacher in foreign country = raping pocketbooks, especially if you're good. Most of my business came by word-of-mouth and happy students. I even had to teach to one guy's kids on the side because he enjoyed it so much.

The only problem is that it's not really steady, but that can also be a good thing. The winter is always the best season and the summer is always the worst, but if you plan well, you can live like a king during the summer if you bust ass during the winter.

Indeed. It's not my main job at the moment, but from what I've seen it easily could be. I'm being paid incredible amounts of cash, purely for being an English speaker. I'd say my grammar is better than 90% of native English speakers, but it's not a patch on some Czech teachers who teach English. I'm paid purely for having a British passport.
