Remember Angel Witch?

Marco........This is so complicated. It's gonna take a few month to get my head round it. Thanks for the reply. No i did'nt play in Blind fury.........
I was sacked from AW, and re-joined Rob Downing To form
"Black Jaque Shallaque" and that's how Dave Tattum came along for the ride
for my second time with AW Screamin' n' bleedin', then i was sacked again,
can't understand why? I'm not that hard to get along with.
Poor Kev H.....He's had more line-up than the philharmonic orchestra!!!!!
and he's still trying..Must be frustrating for him. Cheers Marco.......Dave.
PS>How do you get a profile photo to come up? I've uploaded one!

Hey...welcome aboard, Dave!:headbang: "Angel Witch" is one of my all time favorite metal songs.

Barely being a year old when Angelwitch released that album, I took it upon myself when getting into metal to discover the roots. Angel Witch is a bad ass song and band. I know my NWOBHM.

Poor Kev H.....He's had more line-up than the philharmonic orchestra!!!!!

Wow I'm stunned and almost speechless Oggi that you are here, YOU RULE!!!!!. As you've probably read I absolutely worship Angel Witch and still listen to AW regularly, in fact was listening to the first album last night and it still sounds as mindblowing today as it did all those years ago when I first bought it. Angelwitch still have loads of fans cos everytime I'm out wearing that AW tshirt, everyone always comments on it and says what a superb band Angelwitch was. And when folk always ask a question like what band would you like to see reform, I always say the original Angel witch lineup cos they were one of the best bands on the planet.

I love Girlschool and Tank but that time in Edinburgh I mainly went through there to see Angelwitch and that was just a tremendous night - although it was about 26 years ago I can still remember it vividly.

I noticed that Screamin & Bleedin is always going for quite a lot of money on ebay, last week the starting bid was £80!!!!! I would never sell any of my Angel Witch stuff, to me its all priceless.

Away to listen to Angel of Death now:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Well thanks you guys, Its taken a bit of time getting back to you's.
Been a bit busy for a couple of days.
Thanks for your comments "Schenkdere" thanks for the welcome, and blimey "Princes" i hav'nt seen one of those shirts for ages. Hav'nt even got one myself.
Do you think it would be a good idea to re-market it, after all, it was me that brought the logo into the band in 1977.and have the rights to it!
I'ill show you a photo of it with my old band, when i get this UM thing sorted out.
Did anyone see AW as a four piece with Rob Downing??........Much better.
We may have busted into the big time if we'd kept that line-up. sill fate is fate.....Nice to hear all comments. Keep 'em comming. I'ill answer all of them when i can. Thanks again.........OGGI

Sorry "EVIL DEAD" almost mist-ya , so you must be about 28 now?
It amazes me that a 1 year old would eventually get into HM or AW later in life!
Its like me getting into something my ol'man used to like (George formby or Mrs Mills "the happy piano player)
Where's TN you metal mutha f***** he he.?

Tennessee, in America. Home of Jack Daniels..which every metal head knows! It is full of confederate rednecks, but still a damn good state.

I first got into "metal" by hearing black sabbath on the radio, faith no more, motley crue in the late 80's helped too. I got into Bolt thrower in the early nineties then decided to be a proper metal fan and listen to the roots. Started listening to old Gary Moore, Sabbath, Possessed, Death Angel, Maiden, Priest, Angel Witch, Mercyful Fate, Slayer etc etc. Tons of older bands. I fell into metal during the Swedish Death explosion. I actually had a tape of Angel Witch from my Uncle back in the late 80's. This post made me sort through my CD collection find the album. I think the song Angel Witch is going to be a staple workout song on my mp3 player :)

Btw, I 27, 28 in some months from now :)

Evil Dead...........
Nice one! Bit like me realy.
I used to buy chart singles back in the sixties, and other than learning drums by playing along to them, I was looking for something different."Trojen reggae"
was definately not my thing.
I got to know the lady in the record shop, and asked did she know of anything
with guitars in "electric guitars"?
She replied "This has just come in,you might like.........(she played the first track) "thats it, thats it," Guess what?.....................................................
Good times bad times...Led Zeppelin.
She knew exactly what i wanted after that, a couple of weeks later, along came Deep purple in rock....
If you like our title track that much...Go onto youtube and type angel witch.
The promo video is on it. let me know how you get on.......OGGI

 Princes.
I bought a copy of "Screamin'n'bleedin" on CD for £8.00 (ebay)
I've only got vinyl copies.
I would send you a CD version but i dont think you can lay out addresses
on this thing.
The only way is if you send me a personal e-mail by using my nickname which
is on the back of the debut album, followed by........@btinternet.com
All in small cap! Best wishes. OGGI:headbang:

Yeah!!! Loved (and still love) a bit of Angelwitch, along with some of the NWOBHM mentioned before. Mithra and Vardis were pretty damned good, never quite fulfilled their potential either.
Now, if Steve Zodiac turned up here, then I'd be impressed!!!

Although I wasnt into AW when they originally came out I got into them and others through thrash bands that referenced them-like Megadeth. Excellent music

Whoa Nik, that's extremely cold. The Angel Witch debut is a classic.

Not my cuppa I'm affraid Schenk:ill: . Not into NWOBHM at all can just about stomach Maiden  . As for the AW apreciation society COLD yeah just letting ol' Oggi know its not all ass-kissing on Bill's board..be nice as a fello muso to find out what ol' Oggi thinks of Billy's tunes ?:heh:

Yeah Nik, I see where you're coming from...the majority of the NWOBHM stuff leaves me flat as well. I dig early Priest(up to Hell Bent) and, unlike most, I like Maiden with Dianno much better, but there was a lot from that period that's just...eh.

Being dubbed a "classic" is driven by the majority. I think the song Angel Witch is very cool...the rest of the album...eh.

Hey Oggi...what brings you here? Are you a fan of the bold, courageous man?

and, unlike most, I like Maiden with Dianno much better

I only like Maiden with Di'Anno, I actually canny stand thatBruce Dickinson's voice one bit and I must have had a mometnary lapse of insanity in December there when I went to see Maiden - bloody hell 2nd worst concert of my life - a chronic bore doing the whole of the new album which sucks bigtime, but obviously when I bought my ticket I didn't realise they were doing all of AMOLAD. They only did 5 classics and even they weren't my fav songs - bore of hell.

But if Bruce Dickinson was to come on here and intorudce himself, I certainly wouldn't kiss his ass and say that Maiden are awesome cos they definitely aren't in my opinion, they were only awesome with Paul D.
