This afternoon I pulled out an album I went on for a very long time without listening to it, and it's the second time I pull it out in a month. I always forget how awesome this album is from beginning to end.

For fans of Progressive metal with a Power metal tinge (especially those who don't know the band - I'm sure there's quite a few), here's two songs by Mind's Eye, off their great record "A Gentleman's Hurricane" :

That's a great album. "Feed my Revolver" is so damn catchy! Oh and Qrusher14242, Mind's Eye has 3 more albums prior to "...H2O" AFAIK. "Work of Art, "Waiting for the Tide" and "Into the Unknown". All good stuff. They've been quality since they started.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT band. i cannot say enough good things about them. Andreas solo stuff isn't too shabby either. "Walking On H20" could be my favorite.

Great band!! Have all their stuff.....was going to post something about this band!!! Glenn, bring them...:headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

Mind's Eye basically broke up after this album, feeling that they couldn't do any more/better. Great band, great album. This along with H20 are two of the finest progmetal albums.

Couldn't have said better. I'm spinning the H20 album right now and it's such a quality disc indeed. Did they really break up though? Shame...

Afraid so, although the impression I had was that it COULD be more of a long term break than a permanent break-up. Daniel Flores in particular is very active in the musical scene, and has worked with dozens of projects, so their influence certainly remains.

Thanks for the info re: extended hiatus/breakup. I love this disk. I always wondered why I didn't see them mentioned on this board, so their lack of activity explains the absence of discussion.

Yeah some cool stuff, here is my review from when it was first released:

Mind's Eye follow up their acclaimed 2006 disc WALKING ON H20 with the equally gratifying A GENTLEMAN'S HURRICANE. Taking a page from such concept albums as OPERATION:MINDCRIME and STREETS: A ROCK OPERA (lyrically if not stylistically), Mind's Eye ably tell a similarly woeful tale, in this case about an assassin. Early in the proceedings you get some strong material such as "AssassiNation" and "Chaos Unleashed," but it's in the last part of the album that things really kick into high gear, "Ashes To Ashes" really dialing things up a notch along with the ultimately spirited "Red Winter Sirens," heavy groove rocker "Skin Crawl," and persistent "Say Goodnight." A GENTLEMAN'S HURRICANE is heavier than it's predecessors, and I think that suits the music well, like on the robust "Feed My Revolver." There are a few rather standard tracks and some of the lyrics are a bit derivative and clumsy, but overall A GENTLEMAN'S HURRICANE is a cogent conceptual outing falling somewhere between melodic prog and art metal. Although not sent to me, apparently the commercial package includes a comic book outlining the story and a "making of" DVD which includes a video for "Feed My Revolver" along with the documentary, making this even more well-worth picking up. - Neal Woodall (MysticX9@gmail.com)

Good band Milto. This track would have to be my fave of theirs....
