Revisiting Isa by Enslaved

So far, much better than Below (Average) the Lights. haha, get it?

THis seems much more focused, not to mention it seems they upped the brutality on this one. THe clean vocals work well too.

Cool album this...

I normally don't rant about this sort of thing, but why does everyone refer to the ninth track on Isa as Reogenesis? I know it looks like an R in that font, but in case the lyrics aren't enough hint, he says Neo repeatedly! I've reached more significant conclusions about the album, one being it is better than BTL and that Neogenesis, Bounded By Allegiance (now there's an awesome riff for ya!), and Return To Yggdrasil (nothing I love more than acoustics offset with dissonance) are three of the best songs they've ever done.

Neogenisis is highly appreciated , I prefer 75% of the other tracks , 4 to 7 included are amazing.

It's because the MP3 is/was listed as Reogenesis in CDDB. And of course, the MP3s came out well before the album...so it kinda stuck. Then, to make matters worse, the promos went out without a tracklisting (just the CD itself and a promo sheet description of the band). Not a big deal now I suppose.

I listened to this album again the other day. Nope, not for me at all. It's too uneven, especially since the first three tracks bore me to tears. I kinda miss the vibe that was set in "As Fires Swept Clean the Earth" and "Queen of Night".

I also realized that other than the debut and perhaps Eld, Enslaved are pretty fucking overrated. They have lots of 7 or 8/10 type albums, but very few 10/10's. Maybe even just one. Don't get me wrong, great band, but it's not like every release is a masterpiece (10/10 buy or die).

They're pretty professional on stage , a great show . This Mastodon and Negura Bunget on the 19 , great month :dopey:
