Nah, this is John Morales from a band called Exulcerate here in San Antonio. He does strive to be at Lyle's level though, he has come a very long way from where he used to be skill-wise. This is his first time recording too, professionally that is, mostly just demo bullshit before (3 mic setups jammed live, that kinda junk). On a side note, the cymbals are on loan from Lyle, they are his Meinl set - I really dig these cymbals! Snare is a Pearl ELX with REMO Controlled Sound head, SM57 (no tran) top and i5 bottom, in case anyone cared.

Hahaha well I get to work with Lyle quite often too so tracking awesome drummers is not new for me
On the other hand, Ermz is totally right, drummers that play this good are few and far between, I've been very lucky to know John and Lyle as friends for years though and have the pleasure of recording them. Stoked about this project, real death metal shit, been wanting to work on some for a while now. Will have a track or two up in a diff thread once this project is done in a couple weeks
BTW, this song is at 230bpm and is their slowest one. They have a song at 260 and 255 as well, unfortunately no gravity blasts in those though
