Ridiculous! (drum clip)

This is amazing. I'd say try not sampling the kick, just to see how it goes, maybe add a 40-60hz sine so the low end is consistent? What's the snare/drum head setup? The snare sounds awesome on it's own.

wanna see some vid footage of him playing...make it happen:yow:

Haha tomorrow is the last day of drum tracking, I will try but no promises.

Unfortunately he is just going way too fast to use natural kick, it just simply does not work for the style. Going that fast (16ths @ 230, 255, 260, so on) it is incredibly difficult to hit hard enough for the punch and attack needed to cut through a thick, heavy DM mix. I am using a DIY subkick which is blended into the trigger track that is pushing out 40Hz exactly. It will be good for adding a little more dynamic feel to the low end while the trigger track helps keep the attack consistent - it is just necessary for the style. I would love to use natural kick, but I have been down that road many times over the years it just doesn't work out.

The snare is a Pearl ELX with REMO Controlled Sound head, SM57 (no tran) on top and i5 on bottom.

That's John? Fuuuu, total surprise right there. I guess their live shows and practice sessions really don't do them justice since it's usually mud city when they play. I'm so happy John is finally in the studio after all these years with Dave. Also heard the new Abhorrent tracks from Marlon and again, total sickness!

Yeah, check my sig for information! Honestly John is pretty fucking sick, but Lyle would knock it out quick and it would be better, in case you were interested in having some session drums done ;) ;)

Got bored and ran the kick through TRIGGER with the Despised Icon kick sample, sounds like programmed drums now  http://dl.dropbox.com/u/794136/Kick Test/SiqqTriggered.mp3

But if lyle is busy with the faceless and touring and such.., i would be happy to use my services for other bands. :) Thanks for all the kind words!!! :headbang:

I did, it's in my signature "Pearl Export ELX Kick and Snare," zip file contains the kick and snare from this kit in TCI format as well as WAVs.
