Hey, Friends,

First of all, I have to thank everyone who came out to see us in Texas, Sweden, Spain and Japan. It was sweeter than ever 20 years later.

I'm extremely sad to report that those will probably be the last shows I ever do with Riot.

We have differences about how to proceed with the future of the band that we can't reconcile, so a majority of the other members have decided to look for a new singer. It wasn't my decision, and there's really no good reason for us to part ways. You may hear a lot of noise from some of the other guys, but the truth is that it's all a pointless misunderstanding over a refusal to compromise.

No matter, because I've just been in touch with the rest of the guys from Faith And Fire, and we're beginning work on a new album immediately. There's no way I'm going to let a year's worth of preparation and practice go to waste. My voice is as strong as ever, and you will hear it again soon.

Thanks again to everyone who made these shows a miracle for me. Your support has kept me strong and I'll be back before you know it.

See you out there with a new Faith And Fire album in 2010!

I gotta admit I was really curious to hear what they were going to come up with, and I was anxious to see them possibly do some dates and finally see them, so I am upset.

I wonder if there is any chance at all of a Dimeo reunion now that he's out of Masterplan. To be honest the Dimeo stuff is my favorite era of Riot on the whole. Inishmore and The Bretheren of the longhouse are two awesome and underrated albums.

Damn. I knew I should have made it to one of those few shows they did. Tony Moore-fronted Riot is one of my favorite bands ever.

This news sucks, and its weird that just yesterday I was trying to figure out how to get to the cemetery that Rhett Forrester is buried at - a suburb of Atlanta I believe (Tucker?) so that next year I can DEFINITELY make it out to pay my respects. Can't believe in all these eyars I still haven't done that. it's on the list for next year for sure.

That stinks indeed... What a great vocalist he was on those two RIOT albums. The other bad news was the last "Faith & Fire" album wasn't very good... not at all, which proves the best vocalist in the world can't fix bad songwriting...

you know what the WORST part about this post is?!?! is that i JUST TODAY got my RIOT Japanese remastered reissues in the mail and was coming to the board to start a thread about RIOT being considered for the showcase, because Thundersteel is one of the best US power metal albums EVER and with that line-up back together it would have been awesome.

Saw them in San Antonio this summer, and it was a blast...just a joy to be there. Seems like they had a bunch of new material...wonder if it was already in the can? Will Tony take some songs with him to Faith & Fire? Hmm...

For the record, I really dug the first Faith & Fire album. It was a little offbeat, but it continued to grow and grow on me until it just became infectious.....

I wonder what led to their self-destruction...

I think Mike has an absolutely fantastic voice, probably in my top 10 singers, personally. I think he had some huge shoes to fill joining Masterplan, but I honestly believe he was about the best, most appropriate person they could've gotten for the job. I'm a Jorn fanboy but I was actually excited when that was announced. Sadly the album was a bit pedestrian in comparison the first two, but that wasn't Mike's fault. His vocals with Riot have always been superb, IMO.

Drummer Bobby Jarzombek posted this update online - "Speaking of reunions, I went to Japan in October with the Riot - 'Thundersteel' line-up. We did Osaka and two nights at Club Citta in Kawasaki. Japan has always been a special place for Riot and this time was no different. The fans were great and the shows went well considering we barely had any time to rehearse and couldn't do any warm-up shows stateside. As you've probably heard by now, these were our last shows with Tony Moore on vocals. There will be a statement from the band on this matter but let me just say we that plan to move on with a new vocalist and a new album in 2010."
