I guess the produced thing is fair enough, Matt layered the vocals a lot on Horror Show.

In that 2nd paragraph I was half talking about Rhapsody and half talking about The Reckoning. I didn't mean that Rhapsody are dark, I mean that those types of choruses sound dark and power metal choruses don't.

I don't have a huge problem with matt's higher notes on HS. Granted, they don't sound terrific, but i don't think they are bad....

Agreed, matt sounds a lot more menacing than ripper. In my opinion, he has a more powerful voice as well. But hey, what can ya do. Oh well. Ripper's voice does grow a bit on you, though....

The drums to me still sound really thin.... :sad:

I dont like the drum sound either, but the drum sound has been getting worse each album ever since Burnt Offerings/Dark Saga! Though I think it reached an all time low on Demons And Wizards.

I haven't heard any of the samples yet, but I'm doing my best to ignore the groundswell of public opinion so I can still look forward to them. Long live Ripper .

Horror Show gets more turns in my CD player than Something Wicked, though I enjoy both. The only "mediocre" IE albums (IMHO naturally) are Burnt Offerings and the self titled one.

You can't anymore. They've taken down the mp3s and replaced them with ram files - which suck.

Ah I figured as much, cos when I did right click and "save as" they just saved an icon in my folder of about 46 bytes in size or something.

I didnt like them at all at first, dont mind them now though, but IE have gone WAY too power metally, I always liked them because they were HEAVY and aggressive, and Ripper has great vocals but he has no menace in his voice, I cant imagine him doing any of the heavier IE stuff, he can scream like a motherf**ker though !!
