RiR DVD Review

Wrathchild, the sound on the RiR DVD is much better than the clipf of Hallowed taken from the NOTB DVD. I know what you are talking about, it sounds pretty awful.

All i can say is that while i can pick up some of the audio problems with the RiR DVD, its damn good and im glad i bought it. At this point due to my VCR not working, i am playing the DVD through mono speakers, and it sounds good through one speaker, so no doubt it will sound great in stereo!

The interviews with the guys during their spare time is worth the money alone.

MAIDEN RULE!!!

I wouldn't bother :) The extras are pretty worthless in my opinion, just a few interviews of little importance. 50 minutes of extras on a disc by itself - makes me sick.

'cos a DVD can hold like 3 hrs worth of shit.. therefore 50minutes is pretty pathetic

Because they were saying the DVD was 'state of the art' when it's obviously not, and they could easily have had far more extras than just 50 minutes (the 'Day in the Life' documentary goes for ten minutes, when it would have been cool to see a two hour doco). A two hour concert and 50 minutes of extras is NOT worth $50. Oh, and the whole thing could have been on one disc rather than two.

Maybe I just expect too much after being a fan for 16 years.

I hereby expect everything released by Maiden to range in quality from pathetic to mediocre. This way (hopefully) I will never be disappointed again. :)

Calling it 'state of the art' is just to make it sound all fancy smanchy. I didn't expect it to have a 3hr doco on the bonus disc just because they labelled it 'state of the art'.

Most likely they had to put it on two discs, as the first disc would have ran over the three hour mark with all the bonuses and commentrie, ect on it. I wouldn't expect they would throw together another two hours worth of stuff just to fill a second disc because they can. I think its just cool that it has more on it than the gig itself, and I would like to see it...

Don't get me wrong, I love my Maiden as much as the next guy, and would love for them to make a true 'state of the art' DVD, but I am not going to be sour at them because it's not as good as it could of been..

Commentary? What commentary? Or am I missing something here? :)

It's not worth $50 (or whatever cheapo price you can get it at other shops). I'd say it's worth your typical DVD price of $34.95, but it would need a hell of a lot more extras than the 50 minutes we've been given if it was going to be worth $50.
