Rode M series

Does anyone have experience with any of the Rode M series mics?
I'm really tempted by the $1 deal they are running but I haven't heard any of these.
I'm particularly tempted by the M-3.

Any thoughts?

Haven't used it but from what I've read the M3 is similar to a AKG C1000, but with a more open high end. Seems a good deal that they've got on you could get a pair of M3's for £80!

I've read that but it's somewhat of a dubious comparison for me since I hate the c1000. Right now in the US if you buy a Rode mic they'll give you an M series for $1. I guess I don't have anything to lose but I'd rather buy something useful.

isnt it only if you buy another rode mic? im actually quite tempted buy this, as a budget is beyond tight, anyone recommend any of the rode mics for vocals ?
