Roll Call: Pagan Fest USA 2008

While we wait to see what kind of way cool fest the Heathen Crusade folks announce, I have a question for everyone:

Who's going to Pagan Fest USA 2008?

With a line-up consisting of Ensiferum, Turisas, TYR, and Eluveitie, I don't see how anyone can resist.

My wife and I will be at the April 30th show in Detroit, and the May 1st show in Chicago. Are any of you Heathens going to either one of those shows? Or are you waiting for the May 2nd show in St. Paul?

Who's heard the new CD from Eluveitie? Is it as good as people are saying it is?

Bill

Going to try to make it to some of the dates in Texas, since those are the dates that are closest to me. I cannot wait to see Týr. It'll be nice to see Ensiferum, and Turisas as well. I'm not really digging what I've heard of the new Eluveitie, but I'm sure they'll put on a good show.

Mustve missed monday's announcement, eh? :p

I don't think the bands listed butchered the fest. I really think Epicurean is great. I like Ion Vein and obviously, Iced Earth is the shit...so even if you don't like metalcore (although A Life Once Lost is now getting second looks based on post today on the Powerfest forum) the Friday show is gonna be fantastic! Saturday kicks ass all the way!! Thursday is Powerfest's kick-off with Pagenfest. I think it's a hell of a bargain for the cost.

I dunno, advertising Susperia, Horrorscope and Persuader, then booking a load of metalcore just turned me off to the fest. More power to them cause it will do well, hopefully it builds some name recognition, but to book a trip to Chicago to see bands I can just spend $20 for a NYC trip to see isn't worth it for me.

Testament is coming here too, so the only bands I'm really missing out on are Suidakra and Iced Earth, and I've seen Iced Earth before (excellant show). Epicurian are very decent too, they were the band that stood out from that Heathen Crusade pre-show in 2006 that I'm glad got signed.
