Rome

1st para - Because I clearly was talking about intermarriages.

2nd - How else would you discribe a change in local ancestries at that time from a occupation than diluted ? Sorry I dont have all the words in the dictionary at my disposal, just a common man ya know, never with any desire to be "PC"... a pathetic and poser trend

how is political correctness "poser?"

I suppose dilute is the proper word to be used in this case. I guess I just never cared enough about bloodlines. I do regularly use the word "infect" when talking about the rise of extremism in secular nations, so count me out of the PC poser pile.

how is political correctness "poser?"

Have you never seen the perfectly... overly PC person react when they have their toes stepped on and suddenly all the PC act goes straight out the window ? If not yet someday perhaps.

Im all for being polite but shy none when it comes to getting to the point. I suppose to me thats PC... politely correct with no temperment for nonsence.

OK time to rape your eyesockets with pictures of awesome stuff. Here we go.

I've got tons and tons more, but these are some choice cuts. If you want more of any of the sights here, just ask and I'll post.

I'm enjoying the read so far, Zeph. Rome kicks ass. I know you say St. Peter's Basilica feels belittling, but it seems like quite a large part of that city is the same way. So many of the older structures are just on a ridiculously huge scale, as if they used to design them to accommodate giants as well as people.

That's the point of monumental architecture: make people feel weak and small so you can dominate and indoctrinate them.

Interesting how in recent years that tactic has changed to keeping people mindlessly entertained, or distracted by superficial 'debate', so they simply forget they're being dominated in the first place. :)
