Rough mix with vocals

For the guitars I used my Ibanez 7621 with a Blaze custom pup into a shitty Ibanez TS5. From there I go into my old as peavey mixing board as my interface connected to my comp via the line in. I think I used Dirthead for the amp sim, and forget what impulse i used. The bass is a soundfont cause I'm too poor to afford a real bass, but that too is going through dirthead. The drums were DFH2 with the basics of eq's, comps, and gates from reaper and a reverb i forget where i found. All vocals were recorded with an SM57 actually... I really need a better job.

Heya!

Very interesting stuff you got=)
Cool riffs and vocals. the mix sounds alittle "unclear", but its a rough mix after all so im sure you will fix that at some point
Good job!

Cheers

I think you've got the same problems that I have (had) ... the vocals don't really sit in the mix,.. they sit on it.
I used delays and verb, and bringing the level down to just above the guitars to make them better.

I also read on here, that a lot of people use parallel compression on vocals to make them sit a little better (about 5 pages back i think).

I'm still learning, how do I do that?
