Fucking epic drums. I'm a sucker for really aggressive snares, so I think the snare could be a bit more in-your-face, but other than that it sounds punchy and powerful as hell. Good job! Yeah, the guitars are pretty middy, but then again I think they fit this music in their own way, so I'm not sure if it's a negative thing :)

Thanks everyone!

Here are samples from the sessions and some info on what I did with 'em.

The room is our slightly treated rehearsal space / studio "live-room" recorded with M/S (2 NT2a's if I remember) and slammed with Smack! Cymbals everywhere and you have to scoop out some low-mid build-up.

Guitars were quad-tracked with Krank Rev+ on one side (left?) and Powerball on the other, panned 100-80 80-100. The EQ on the Toft ATB24 was put to good use, especially on the guitars. I love the top end you can get with it. Strangely, I had to add a dollop of low-end to.. er.. get the boom
Never had to do this before.

Bass was just a DI signal, split into 2 tracks, with the low-end pummeled into submission and the top distorted with the PSA-1 plugin. (Tried re-amping, didn't like it the results and I tried all kinds of stuff.)

Vocals were AKG C414B-ULS into TG-2 and some Pro Vla on the way in and also some in the mix with only a little eq from the Toft. As a curiosity, I used my trusty old Roland RS-505 for widening .. ;)

Drawmer compressors on kick and snare and parallel comp'd with an Alesis 3630 no less!

There's still some more issues to deal with our acoustics in the CR, mainly there's something going on in the 1-3kHz region, probably from the desk, which most likely causes what's happening with the snare and guitars. So it's good to hear your comments!

Er.. some of the details are a bit fuzzy...
