I'm about to get a rack setup (ADA MP-1 and a Rivera Hammer 120 power amp). One of my friends has a 4x12 cab he can sell me cheap, but its mono input at 8ohms. Since Rivera stopped making the Hammer power amps, I can't find a manuel to see how I would have to set it up if I wanted to do such a thing. Do any of you guys know this is a possible, a dumb idea or all the above. I got a feeling it is possible to run the stereo outs into the mono input, but I'd possibly have to get some different cables. Any help or info welcome. Thanks and take care.

If there's no bridged mono option on your amp, or you can't find the instructions for it, I suppose you could re-wire your cab.

An 8ohm mono cab most likely means a pair of 8ohm speakers in series wired in parallel with another pair of series 8ohm speakers. :loco:

If that's the case, you can wire it as either a 4ohm or 16ohm per side stereo cab. Just dig around online a bit for wiring instructions. It's pretty easy once you get into it.
