Rush

I'll admit that the first time I heard a Rush song on that glorious day, I couldn't help but laugh at Geddy's ornately unconventional vocals. It sounded almost like Michael Jackson performing some frighteningly-enthusiastic squeals. I was, however, very intrigued by how the music sounded unlike anything I had ever heard before. Through repeated listenings, I came to appreciate two things, first how incredible of a bass-player Geddy is, and secondly, how strikingly well Geddy's groovy and jazzy vocals contribute to the music. True, in any other band at any other time, Geddy's voice might have been the lower end of a potentially impressive group of musicians, but in Rush, he has no equal. To put it simply, Rush is not Rush without Geddy's flamboyant, familiar voice.

Glad to see those utterly amazing musicians in Rush gettin their due here in amongst the metal bands. Though I hafta say, I enjoyed the albums from the first half or so of their career much more than the later ones. They weren't any less musically amazing but they got a little too soft I thought. I just got the Rush in Rio DVD and I was glad to see there was plenty of older stuff in their setlist.

Been a fan for some years...Alex is one of my all time favorite guitar players. I have spent many a hour trying to master some of his riffs!

Yes...Geddy's voice can be annoying..but you learn to ignore it or not let it bother you.

Seen em live twice..damn amazing! tight as all hell! They can pull off anything they can record.
