Russell on the new Star One album

Hello, everyone. I haven't been on in quite some time, but I recently found out that it appears Russell Allen has just left Holland while working with Arjen Anthony Lucassen (the mastermind of Ayreon for those who don't know) on the new Star One album.

I am very excited! Perhaps this is the reason for a lack of update from SX? It's quite obvious the band are no where near being done with their new masterpiece, but this should hold us over!

yeah, russell's been busy with the new star one (crazy-excited for it), but he also recently worked on the 2 Avantasia albums, a song on the first ReVamp album, Allen/Lande 3..... possibly more.

I hope on the new Star One album he doesn't scream as much, but sing in the way he did on Space Metal. I thought that was magical (as you can see by my profile pic )

this will probably turn out like every other Arjen project: lukewarm with some takeaway good tracks. For all the stellar performers he always uses (and he always seems to go back to the same core 10ish) I'd expect the bar set higher.

Does anyone have any idea what the name of the song is Russell is singing in that clip you just posted? I'm going to listen to the first Star One album and see if I can find it.

I hope it has been released because that little 5 second clip make me go insane...that note he hits is beast.

The posted clip is a sample of the new album, song titles haven't been announced yet.

look up the new video Arjen released for "Instrumentalists" on youtube, it has a sick sample at the end with russells vocals.

yes but the male vocalists are superb and that instrumentalists sample posted on the third blew me away. kabooom.
will probably be better than the last 3 ayreons put together.

I sure hope so... He's very hit and miss. If he can pull off all-hits on an album, he would certainly have a sick record.

And yeah, friggin Dan Swanö and Russell Allen, how can you go wrong with those two in it?

Hope they go on tour with that line-up. The first Star One wasn't that great as a studio album, but the DVD "Live On Earth" was stellar.

But Arjen loves her singing. You know she's going to be all over the place. Remember Stream of Passion? He turned Marcela Bovio into Floor (Mexican Remix)
