Ruun

this album is so far heading towards being pretty good. I've only listened to it once so I can't really judge it completely, because usually after a few listens I start to really get into it if it is really that good.

I like the last song, "Heir To The Cosmic Seed," it has a really nice depressing melody, just what Enslaved is known for.

"Essence" is my favorite right now. A slight return to blast beats!

No shit, I wrote this album was definitely better than the new Tool.

you a winnah ha ha ha.

congrats on finding a FAULTLESS ARGUMENT.

So, ok, it's good and all, agreed, but I have yet to hear someone to continue to praise RUUN after a month of listening, followed up by a repeat run through listen of their previous works as a refresher to realism.

Usually Enslaved albums take over a month to sink in.

it took 6 months for me to finally enjoy ISA (I'm persistant) Which is why it's a shame people still bash that one so much, and yeah I'm a hypocrite for doing the same for Ruun, but ya know??, I love to complain (oh shitz my secret's out) and all music made after 1974 has been shit anyway, so no loss.

edit: hahaha 1974, i might start bumping up that year to 1994, there were a few good things around then.

ITT WE LIST THE BEST ALBUMS OF 1994

Alice in Chains - JAR OF FLIES
Beastie Boys - ILL COMMUNICATION
NiN - THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL

touche, 1994!!!

oh shiz, serious?

1994 just knocked me out faster than a game of mike tyson's punch out before tyson got into legal trouble and the game was changed to just "punch out" which sucked cause it was a slide-slide-slippity-slide getting to the dude before tyson, so if that was really the end of the game for this latter era of gamers, that's why this current generation is full of slackers!

freakin silver platters, man.

ITT WE LIST GAMES WE'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO BEAT

Mike Tyson's Punchout
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

oh and the only ones are from the NES, coincidence?? NOPE *insert nostalgic references and complaints about generational gaps here*

ZOMG UR A HIPPOCRITTER

Ruun is actually being played right now. The intro song is getting pretty catchy with repeated listens. The short symphonic intro is neat too, reminds me of ISA, as well as the post-rockish intro to song seven.

ISA is incredible. Every single song on that CD is enjoyable. I love their dark and depressing atmospheres in ISA and Ascension.

Path To Vanir has a nice soft acoustic passage
