Sabaton takes it to another level...

When I saw them at Sweden Rock over the summer you could not move anywhere near the stage. Granted they are from Sweden but damn it was like seeing Maiden with the insanity that was going on during their performance.

SABATON LAUNCH REISSUE WAR CAMPAIGN

Do you wonder what Sabaton did in the studio about one month ago?
Do you wonder why Primo Victoria, Attero Dominatus, Metalizer and Art of War is so hard to get these days?

This is why...

"To be able to continue to do what we all love, meaning to continue to play music and to tour the world, we have now purchased the rights to the Sabaton music. And to celebrate this we want to make them available again to all of you in a unique cooperation between Sabaton, Nuclear Blast and Black Lodge."

Now what does this mean??

"Well, first it means that when you buy a Sabaton album, more of the money spent on the albums will actually go to Sabaton and second it means that we want to celebrate this by making the first four albums available again, but in really cool new versions! We have digged deep into the treasury of Sabaton to find unique, strange, funny and unexpected songs. Every album on the Re-Armed editions will feature new tracks and they will include some old demos, some coversongs, some live versions of songs, some really old and unheard songs and some completely new songs recorded in Studio Abyss."

They will all be re-released on the 27th September 2010 & can from today be pre-ordered at www.sabaton.net

Yes, I knew about this, but from what it sounds it doesn't seem like a reissuing aimed towards the US. What I meant more is for them to be readily available at a decent price on Amazon on such. Sure, people on this board and others will go to their site as well as places like Laser's Edge, but for them to really be successful here they need to have a US distributor. Just my 2 cents.

Shiite! That's a helluva tour for those guys. Glad for them, just hope they don't burn out. Looking forward to seeing them back here. Glad I live on the East Coast near NYC so if they come over here at all, there'll be a chance. :Smokedev:

While I enjoy Sabaton's music and love their live shows, the quality of their music doesn't really align with this level of popularity.

I agree, but there seems to be something special going on. 40-1 is massively popular in Poland and Talviosta is very popular in Finland. I suspect other songs are also incredibly popular elsewhere. They seem to have stumbled onto something that really works.

I predict this will jump the shark when Jay-Z does a concept album on the Thirty Years War.

I think Overkill would be a good U.S. host. I have no expectation they'd ever do it, but logically I think they COULD do it. Because Overkill are a long-running band with a killer live show (the power of which I've enjoyed seeing twice and want more) with nothing to fear following a band like Sabaton and no insecurities regarding their own cemented place in the metal pantheon. They have good touring coverage in the US, and even if Sabaton did upstage them, well...Overkill's old and their career is honestly on its back nine :p But really I do think it would work based on where those two bands are at. It would be a cool way for one of the old guard to endorse a torch-passing to a shining star of the new guard.

I would follow this tour as long as my wife would let me....:worship:

They've hinted at a US Headline tour in early 2011.

I can only hope this is true. I've never seen them live and I absolutely adore Sabaton! I know they're a bit gimmicky, but I don't care. Their songs are catchy and educational! XD

The Art of War, Attero Dominatus, and Metalizer (all re-armed versions) available on eMusic for download. The Metalizer is quite the deal...you get all 27 tracks for the cost of 12 credits.

I bought the 2 CD edition of Metalizer at PP8 and the first disc had terrible sound quality like very compressed. Very disappointing. Did anyone else have any issues with that release?

One of those discs from what I remember was a demo, so that would probably be the reason for the bad sound quality.

In what way?

In that they will work hard, and become successful. Once that happens they can do headline tours in midsized venues. Can't wish that one anyone.

Naturally, some of their current fans will become haters, since the new fans will be Hot Topic shoppers. Surely you know that none of "our" bands can be shared with Hot Topic shoppers, and still be cool... or even good for that matter. Plus, once the band becomes popular doing the exact same thing that have always done it will become clear that they "sold out."

You know, the first time I heard Airborne, it was because of a recommendation from a Hot Topic employee. Some of the people who work there are still cool, but man, that store has changed.. I remember being in one and listening to "mall metal", then going to Spencers and hearing Edguy! Needless to say, I lavished the Spencers' manager with praise and bought more useless crap based on the happy mood he put me in.

Nuclear Blast USA's website

...and Glenn you are in constant contact with them for their triumphant headlining return to PP XIII?:Smokin: - me feels bid a brewin' for XIII sponsorship - of course Thursday night headliner for PP XII first would be even better......

No argument here!

It's really cool that they're doing well. After slaying audiences on this extensive tour with their undeniably intense live performance, Sabaton should really reap a lot of "word of mouth" buzz from those audiences.

Jay-Z doing a song about the Thirty Years' War

NOW you've got me thinking of song-titles and stuff. "Tilly's Sacking of Magdeburg" or "Battle at Breitenfeld"..... :)
