Bass player Pär Sundström commented on the release: Over the years so many people have told us we should make a live-album and finally we fell to the demands of all of you, our fans. The World War Tour was amazing and we wanted to record it and keep the shows alive forever. So, during the magic night aboard the Sabaton Cruise 2010 we recorded the whole show and now we stand ready to release it as the first ever official Sabaton live-CD. And as if it was not enough we also recorded many shows all around Europe and put together a whole CD with mixed songs from various cities. And finally we decided to release the recording we did at the first Rockstad:Falun festival 2008 from Falun as a bonus for you who buy the limited edition. In total it will be over 20 different songs and we have also collected a lot of pictures from the tour and put them in a massive booklet. We will reveal all details very soon.”

It doesn't have "Unbreakable" - one of their higher energy tracks, with a really great segue. The DVD would be a lot of fun, given the right setup.

I suppose it would depend on if you prefer certain bands' studio sound to their live sound, or different interpretations. I sometimes find that early recordings where the production is lacking can find new life when recorded later for inclusion on live albums. I, for one, really love Sabaton in a live setting but find most of their studio recordings to be rather harsh to the ears. As such, I hope the live platter will be easier to digest.

Do people still buy live albums? I'd buy a good Sabaton live DVD in a heartbeat, but it's hard to get excited about this release.

I don't do the dvds. I cannot just sit on my couch and watch a concert DVD. The few that I own have only been watched once. I would much rather be able to listen while I do other stuff.

Military obsessed Swedes SABATON have released a trailer for the North American release of their first ever live album, entitled World War Live: Battle Of The Baltic Sea, which will be released on September 13th in North America via Nuclear Blast. Watch the video below:

The album track, 'Swedish Pagans' joins the previously posted track, 'Cliffs Of Gallipoli', both streaming at this location.

I have been thinking of purchasing this....just not into live albums much anymore, except for bands I have seen personally and really enjoyed.

I buy them occasionally, but it depends on what band it is. Sometimes the crowd's energy can really add a whole new element to the music. Prime examples are Iron Maiden's Rock In Rio and Megadeth's Buenos Aires CDs.
