Hi, all. Took a classic and remixed it for metal! I sampled a mid-1970's era Slingerland 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple drum kit. Tom sizes were 13x9 high tom, 14x10 mid tom, and 16x16 floor tom with a 22x14 kick/bass drum. Recorded in 16bit, 44.1K stereo .WAV files, with left and right hand strokes. Mics used were MD421 close mics panned naturally around the stereo spectrum for a drier, airyer sound, and as overheads, Neumann KM 84s in an x-y position as close as I could get to my head, to best approximate the sound the drummer hears from his perspective, with a minimal amount of room from a Royer R-122. Between the larger shells and a little bit of muffling on the drums, this set has a punchy, dead tone. I feel I created nice variation and I'd love to hear any mixes you guys choose to use these in. Feedback is welcome. Hope you all enjoy and please let me know what you think. :p

That's what I usually sample at, it's a standard bitrate. I don't notice much difference with higher bitrates - CD audio quality should be good enough for most here.
