just produced the hymn for the luebeck cougars (footballteam) and the drummer that I had in the studio brought a Sonor Phonic Plus Metal Snare (diecast rim).
I thought it sounded pretty good and you might be interested, so here some samples I created:

(no processing, EQ+Comp, EQ+Comp+Reverb)

just simple setup, 2 sm57 into dm2000.

enjoy

EDIT: sliced and edited, just drop them into whatever prog.

In the spirit of giving.. and since this forum has taught me more in the last month than I've learned looking over the entire internet in twice that amount of time.. here are the samples I took from my Friends Tama star classic kit..

http://www.sneapforum.celtiaproductions.co.uk/RyanUsesThis/Tama_StarClassic.rar

I used some mics that are very rarely mentioned on this forum..

each drum is set up with a top head mic, bottom head mic, and an overhead..

Top, and bottom are M-Audio Solaris mics
The overhead is an M-Audio Pulsar

Absolutely no effects, compression.. etc..

I've already set up a battery kit.. so if you use NI Battery you'll be set to go w/ several valocity levels for the kick, and snare..

otherwise.. they're all cut up and ready to go..
