SAMPLES! Pearl Reference Tom Samples

Here are some Pearl Reference Tom Samples, Recently taken from a session.

Sizes are 10x10, 12x10 and 16x14

10 and 12 sound good, not really digging the 16" (DAMN Evans EC-2 heads Blow IMO). At any rate, Enjoy!

The heads and mics I used for the toms are, Evans EC-2 Clears (ugh) for all toms. Mics were, if I remember were all MD-421's...

Just curious what you don't like about EC-2's?

I haven't used them as much as emperors, but they have generally been ok for me when I've used them.

I think it just really boils down to the player more than anything, the EC-2's sounded alright during the single hit drum sampling. IMO I think the EC-2's are a tad strange sounding in midrange and are a bit muted (lifeless) in the overtone department.

I did have some better results with the "coated" EC-2's, but curious if it was because of the way the player was hitting them more than the head it self.

i love the rack toms! floor could be better but im sure it will make for good blending! thanks a lot, its so hard to find quality tom samples!
