Sound sample of me improvising with some of the presets in "Cinematic Collection":

My review
Some of the sounds are a bit basic if you're used to high end stuff like East West Quantum Leap, but you can't beat the price (and it's easy on the CPU). Sampletank also comes with excellent effects using technology from T-Racks, Amplitube and CSR Reverb and such, and I find a lot of the sounds can ba made very usable by putting them through an effect treatment. My favourite pack so far is the Cinematic Collection, which has some really dynamic "orchestral meets sound design" stuff going on that will nicely complement my East West stuff.

The demos are not extremely impressive.

And some of the sounds are very basic.

But it's very intuitive to tweak them, and many of the more basic sounds can be made quite useful, particularly in a mix context.

Personally I think the Cinematic Collection was worth the price alone. But I agree the official demo for it sucks.

I'll see if I can put something together and post though to illustrate some of the stuff I personally like.

Yeah man, that would be awesome! I was actually interested in the Cinematic Collection as well, but the sound clips were terribly unimpressive. But if I were to choose 4, I'd probably take that, pianos, strings and vocals. The vocal pack had the worst example clip ever though.

Thanks for posting this. We're approaching the 4x1 mark nicely, and I hope we hit it soon.

As far as audio examples go, this probably isn't much better but I had a mission to quickly put together something close to a particular sound (and sorry, it isn't metal at all) and chose Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part I... using sounds from Cinematik, SampleOB Xpander, and Vintage Keys ONLY from this Group Buy I put the following clip together. I used one sound from each pack for the pad and only one sound from the OB pack for the lead. Mind the few seconds of silence at the beginning - I also only took a few minutes to tweak the export :p http://storage.tinytoaster.com/STShine.mp3

EDIT - egan. - very nice! Thanks for letting people know, and I really like it!

^ That sounded like the opening piece for some mid-80's action movie. But at that, it was actually pretty damn convincing!

I won't be able to do record anything tonight since I'll be busy with band practice.

But here is something I put together within the first few minutes of playing with "Cinematic Collection". Musically it's not very interesting, and I was never intending to share it, but I'm sure you'll hear that there is a lot of potential in some of the sounds used. Obviously here they're used a bit over the top, but I'm thinking that some of these can sound pretty wicked in a mix together with East West Quantum Leap or something.

This is with no tweaking, no producing, no effects (maybe delay/reverb within Sampletank).

Nice work! We're over 1,500 now, by the way so 4x1 is ON and 2,500 gets you all 5x1! That's lower than I expected, to be honest - so take advantage of this and maybe it will be 6x1 at a lower threshold than expected.

This has reached 5 for the price of 1 now.

And if you join through Esoundz you can choose an additional bonus library on top of that.
