Sup guys, I have been asked by a band to sample their shells (kick, snare, rack , floor, floating floor.) what mics would you guys recommend. Give me some ideas of the best samples you've used and if I should record rim shots, rolls, all of that I might just put it up for sale as unprocessed. Might give all of you a discount haha.

What are some things you'd like to hear?

What kind of mics you have at your disposal?

Pretty poo poo mics, like beta 52a and bunch of audio technica mics, Sennheiser mk4s, but I won't be using my mics. I will be going to studio near my house and sample it. So probably between

Akg d112 or audix d6
Sennheiser md421 for toms
Sm57 and beta 57 for snare
Sennheiser e614 over heads
Akg c 214 room mics stereo

Sounds great! Just spend time tuning the drums well and finding the right placement for the mics. And sample as many velocities you can with each drum, especially with the snare. You can also try to sample some rolls and flams with the snare
