Sampling pads?!?!?!

Does anyone know an alternative product for sampling live, whenever i'm searching the only one coming up is the Roland SPD-S ...
I would of thought there has to be some sort of competitor for this =s

Something where you can put your own samples onto, and it's is made to be used in the live environment.

Any help?

Ive seen multiple bands using samplers going into macbooks via midi.
A band I mixed live recently had drums, keys vox and samplers all going through a laptop and coming out a 003. Would have been an expensive set up!

Ye, i had a feeling that would be the only other option, doing it via a laptop using Logics Mainstage application or something.

No worries guys, just wondering if anyone knew of a cheaper alternative.

you could use a alesis control pad and trigger with it a sampler programm on a laptop, works great!!

That's how we do it, triggers clips in ableton live and teh mighty subdrop.
