Just thought I'd let you all know that I went to see the mighty Saxon on Saturday night at the Renfrew Ferry in Glasgow. Wow what an amazing gig. Saxon were superb as usual and the set list was more or less the exact same as 6 months earlier when I saw them in Edinburgh. The whole place was bouncing and I was right at the front of the stage in front of the guitarist Doug Scarratt and Nibbs. Saxon put on one of the best performances I've ever seen with Biff laughing and joking with the crowd and plenty of denim jackets getting thrown onto the stage as soon as Saxon came on.
The support band was the mighty Blitzkrieg and they rocked that Ferry insane and practically blew the roof off and the windows out!!!!!. 2 songs into Blitzkrieg's setlist and there was a mental moshpit going on right beside me. There's no barrier or anything at The Ferry so it was pretty mental right down at the front where I was but it was brilliant. The atmosphere was electric and I thought the Ferry was actually going to capsize and sink it was rockin that much
I knew this concert was going to be mindblowing but I would safely say that that concert was the best concert I've been to in my whole life.
I had a permanent grin on my face the whole night it was just soooo awesome and Blitzkrieg were every bit as good as Saxon, so it was fantastic actually getting a half decent support band for a change. Blitzkrieg were that good in fact that I'm going to go over to Belfast to see them in September. At the end of Blitzkrieg's set, Brian Ross the singer came over and shook my hand and then kissed it - awesomeness!!!!!
